InterContinental Phuket

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the InterContinental Phuket, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. Having previously stayed at the InterContinental Jakarta, I was already a fan of the brand, but the King Premium Ocean View Room at the Phuket location exceeded all of my expectations.

Not only did I get to enjoy the beautiful ocean view from my room, but I was also pleasantly surprised by the InterContinental Club Lounge, which was just as wonderful as the one I had experienced in Jakarta.

King Premium Ocean View Room

As soon as I entered my King Premium Ocean View Room at the InterContinental Phuket, I was immediately impressed by its luxurious atmosphere.

The room was spotless, which was to be expected considering the property is brand new. I appreciated the bright and airy design, which made the room feel warm and inviting.

The king-size bed was plush and comfortable, and the seating area was ideal for unwinding. The cherry on top was undoubtedly the private balcony, offering breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea and allowing me to witness the stunning sunsets in complete comfort.

Overall, the King Premium Ocean View Room was a luxurious retreat for me during my stay at the InterContinental Phuket.

Bathroom

The bathroom in the King Premium Ocean View Room is elegantly designed. With its spacious layout, sophisticated design and opulent amenities, I was able to indulge in a relaxing soak in the bathtub or a revitalizing shower while taking in the breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea.

The bath products, including body lotion and shower gel, were by the luxurious brand Harnn, known for their high-quality, all-natural ingredients.

Although I would have preferred to see a fully automated and heated toilet seat, the overall design of the bathroom more than made up for it.

Despite the room’s limited space, the bathtub was placed in a way that allowed me to enjoy a relaxing soak while taking in the views of the trees and sea on the horizon.

Minibar

The minibar in the King Premium Ocean View Room was a real treat for me. It was so convenient to have a range of snacks, drinks, and refreshments right there in the comfort of my room.

I appreciated the attention to detail, like the fact that the water was provided in glass bottles and the tea was from TWG. The coffee pods by Illy were a nice touch, too.

The mini bar also had some other surprises in store – I was delighted to find sparkling wine, red and white wine, local craft beer, and even healthy juices.

The wine glasses and wine opener were a thoughtful addition, as was the kettle for making tea. All of these little touches made my stay in the room even more enjoyable.

InterContinental Club Lounge

As a guest in the King Premium Ocean View Room, I had the opportunity to access the exclusive InterContinental Club Lounge. During my stay, I experienced the lounge’s premium offerings and all the little extras that made my time there even more enjoyable.

One of the highlights of my experience was the complimentary breakfast, which was nothing short of a gourmet feast! I was delighted by the high-quality options, like the delicious prosciutto and an array of various International and Asian Dishes.

• Club Butler Service: During your stay, you’ll have the services of Club Butlers, who are there to help you make the most of your time at the resort and in Phuket. They are available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
• Access to the Club InterContinental Lounge: Enjoy light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages in the lounge, which is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. You also have exclusive access to the Club InterContinental pool.
• A Choice of Two Breakfast Venues: You can start your day with a gourmet breakfast set menu in the Club InterContinental Lounge or enjoy a wide variety of international and local breakfast specialties in the All Day Dining Restaurant.
• Afternoon Tea: Savor freshly-made sweet and savory treats paired with a range of premium tea blends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
• Sunset Evening Cocktail: Sip on premium wines selected by Exclusive Sommelier, classic cocktails, sparkling wine and sample carefully selected snacks and canapés prepared by Executive Chef from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Breakfast

The spread included an abundance of choices such as an array of pastries, freshly baked bread, flaky croissants, a fresh salad bar, succulent salmon, an array of cheeses and cold cuts, plus alternative milk options like soy milk.

There were also different types of yoghurts, juices like apple, orange, pineapple and watermelon juice, as well as an abundance of fresh fruits and various types of granola to complete the meal.

Afternoon Tea

During my stay at the King Premium Ocean View Room, I was delighted to enjoy the privilege of accessing the exclusive InterContinental Club Lounge.

In the afternoons, I savored the opportunity to partake in the complimentary afternoon tea. It was a great chance to take a break and relax, with a cup of hot tea or a cold coffee in hand.

The tea selection was accompanied by a variety of delicious cakes, which were the perfect treat to enjoy in the afternoons. It was a lovely way to unwind and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the lounge.

Evening Cocktail

Pinto Restaurant

I decided to visit Pinto restaurant one morning to check out their breakfast buffet. The selection was quite extensive and it was evident that fresh ingredients were used.

Although I had already enjoyed breakfast at the Club InterContinental Lounge, I wanted to see what Pinto had to offer. While the buffet spread at Pinto was impressive with numerous choices, I found the unique offerings at the Club Lounge to be a fine selection of a la carte options and, of course, the added privacy.

Jaras Restaurant

Jaras is a Michelin Guide restaurant for 2022 and 2023. The restaurant is located amongst the pine trees with a beautiful view of Kamala Beach.

From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the sophisticated and contemporary design that combined authentic Thai flavors with progressive presentation. I was greeted with a pre-dinner drink and canapés, setting the stage for a truly exceptional culinary journey.

The restaurant’s interior was inspired by ancient Thai societies, with intricate details that made me feel like I had been transported back in time. The tasting menu was designed to take me on a gastronomic journey, created by the Chef de Cuisine who draws inspiration from ancient tales and traditional cooking techniques.

The Chef combines local flavors with modern presentation to create contemporary 21st-century dishes using the finest sustainably sourced ingredients from local farmers and fishers in Phuket. These high-quality ingredients not only give the dishes exceptional freshness but also support the local community.

The beautiful atmosphere and delicious, flavorful dishes make it one of the best contemporary Southern Thai restaurants in Phuket. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend checking it out for yourself!

At Pine, you can spend a relaxed day by the beach and enjoy the sun loungers with a seaview and sea breeze. This sophisticated beach bar and lounge provides all-day service, making it an ideal spot to hang out. You can also access the main pool area, making it easy to cool off and refresh.

Whether you’re looking for a healthy breakfast, a lazy lunch with friends, or a nightcap, Pine has you covered with its offerings of healthy breakfast bowls, salads, pizzas, burgers, Thai dishes, and cocktails.

With its cool vibes, delicious food, and scenic views, Pine is a great place to spend the day and enjoy the laid-back Phuket lifestyle.
